Frequently Asked Questions

What is Charity Bowl?

Charity Bowl is Sigma Nu’s annual philanthropic event. It is a full contact football game between Sigma Nu and another fraternity from Ole Miss.

Where do the donations go?

Money raised at Charity Bowl benefits a paralysis victim. This year’s recipient is JD Mills from Collierville, Tennessee. In recent years, Sigma Nu has also donated money to the Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children in Jackson, MS, the Manning Foundation, the William Magee Center for Wellness Education, and to different charitable organizations around the Oxford/Lafayette community.

Do I have to buy a sponsorship?

No. We accept donations in any amount.

What is an ad?

Each year we put together an ad book that is distributed at the game and to local businesses. You may purchase an ad in a variety of sizes: quarter page, half page, or full page. Executive and Corporate sponsorships are displayed on the Vaught-Hemingway jumbotron during the game as well. Larger sponsorships are also available. Please refer to the PDF mail-in ad form for more information.

Can I donate through Venmo?

Yes, Charity Bowl’s Venmo account is @sigmanucharitybowl.

How is the recipient chosen?

Potential recipients are submitted and reviewed by a selection committee. The committee then votes on the recipient for any given year.

Can I submit a potential recipient to be considered for a future Charity Bowl?

Absolutely! We accept nominations for potential recipients year round. If you would like to nominate a potential recipient please email sigmanucharitybowl@gmail.com for more information.
